Ipod shows charged and I briefly saw the menu and cant get it back. I have several days of music on this ipod that I want to transfer. It doesn't even show on my PC.

Can you identify the model? If it has a monochrome screen, with a dock connector...

Did you try doing a Reset (restart) of the iPod?
